Fortunately, Joaquim reached the hotel safely, but struggled with sleep, and the troubles didn’t end there.
The following day, as she paid the driver at the airport, her bags appeared to go missing.
When Joaquim confronted the man, she learned he provided an informal ‘check-in service’ and demanded payment.
After reluctantly giving him some cash, she made her way to catch a flight back home to the UK.
