Terrifying simulation shows why you should never bite your fingernails

If you have a habit of biting your fingernails, you may want to stop

A demonstration of what happens on the edge of the fingers when an individual bites their nails is meant to discourage anyone from trying it again.

At least at some point in life, we all bite our nails, right? Just to take care of some ragged edges instead of resorting to a nail clipper, or something like that.

But for some people, it has become a habit, and as you should know, it is not as harmless as apparently innocent habits think.

According to a YouTuber, Zack D.Films, in a recent short video: “Biting your nails tears the surrounding skin a little, and bacteria can actually enter from your mouth to these tears, making the area around your nails red and tender.”

“These small injuries can cause painful infections and swelling, not to mention that finding your nails become jagged or uneven.”

Because of the terrible simulation he provides, Zack is a pseudonym for paronikia-nail infection, usually due to bacteria.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, paronchia takes root where bacteria fold the cuticle and nails-cutting the skin around the nails and entering the skin.

The medical center explains how most antibiotic-induced nail infections respond well and, since paronicia typically don’t cause serious health problems, infections can sometimes linger and after treatment do occasionally return again.

In the comments, a fan stated: “For those who find it even somehow extreme,” wrote one.

“Nailbite, onicophagia, affects somewhere between 20 and 30 percent of the general population, which makes it fairly common.”

“I bit my nails so I know that feeling, and I used to do so until recently,” said one.

“I was addicted and breaking it took me almost 4 years. To everyone else who has struggled with this addiction, you are strong; I’m blessed.”

Third type: “I’m 22 years old. I did it as long as my memory comes back. I do it with my fingernails, random skin on my fingers, swings, lips. Bleeding at any time. I don’t feel really afraid or sad, I love it. “
