The cold case was reopened by Doug Bishop from United Search Corps, a nonprofit organization specializing in missing persons. He collaborated with Utah internet personality Dave Sparks to reveal the truth.
As reported by CBS News, the duo began producing videos and coordinated with local authorities last spring, seeking answers. Thanks to the efforts of the Utah Office of the Medical Examiner and a private lab, officials were able to confirm that the remains belonged to Anderson.
His son, Axel, shared with Fox13: “It’s been like an unhealed wound for the past 20 years, not knowing what happened.

It’s good to finally have closure for the family, and I’m looking forward to the future now. The search is over, questions are answered, and we can begin a new chapter.”
The sheriff’s office released a statement expressing their condolences to Anderson’s family and appreciating all agencies involved in the recovery for their commitment and professionalism.
Anderson’s brother, Kevin, added: “It feels good to have closure for the family, and I’m eager for what lies ahead. The finality and closure allow us to accept what’s happened. I’m immensely grateful to everyone who has contributed to providing this precious gift of resolution.”
