Relationship expert reveals how long you should wait to sleep with someone

“Politics can be a sensitive topic,” he said. “It’s probably best to steer clear of this on a first date—it can escalate quickly.”

He continued, “Secondly, discussing your ex is a no-go. People aren’t on a first date to hear about your past relationships. It may also imply that you haven’t moved on.”

Assuming that neither politics nor past partners are mentioned and the date is enjoyable, should you engage in intimacy following the initial meeting? Jacob advises against it.

Instead, he recommends adhering to a three-date guideline.

“Being intimate on a first date can lead to complications,” he explained, noting his significant following on Instagram, with over 100,000 fans. “If there’s a strong connection by the second date, it could go either way. The third date is the classic benchmark.”

So, hold off for now, folks.

However, Jacob cautioned that delaying intimacy for too long might create undue pressure for the first encounter or could result in one party being friend-zoned.

Additionally, he offered insights into potential red flags to watch for on dating profiles.

According to Tawkify Matchmaking, reported in 2022, over 13% of online daters ended up engaged or married to someone they met through apps—so don’t lose hope in your search for love, fellow singles.

But how can you spot your future partner among the vast sea of online profiles? Jacob provided a few major profile pitfalls to avoid.

He noted, “When someone leaves their desires ambiguous on an app—it often indicates they want to adjust their intentions according to their conversations, which is quite common.”

Another red flag he highlighted was excessively filtered images.

“Many people do this,” he pointed out. “Then, during the meeting, it’s clear they don’t resemble their photos, which can feel like a mild form of catfishing.”

Jacob also advised potential daters to be cautious of profiles featuring only group shots, men displaying shirtless images, and those lacking bios, as it suggests they are “not genuinely interested in connecting with others or putting in the effort.”

Good luck out there, friends!
