Mom-of-three Sian is described as having been ‘exceptionally brave’
A 35-year-old mother of three tragically passed away just days after being diagnosed with liver cancer due to crucial signs being sadly misinterpreted.
Sian Ashcroft, hailing from the UK, received a terminal cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) diagnosis in January 2024, at which point she was given only a few months to live.
This diagnosis was undoubtedly a shock for anyone, but Sian’s family had little time to come to terms with the situation before the mother passed away just 18 days later.
Now her mother, Sue Dowling, has shared her daughter’s story in collaboration with the CCA charity AMMF, which has noted that unfortunately Sian’s experience is not particularly uncommon.
Sian first discovered that she had health concerns in the spring of 2023 when she attempted to donate blood and was informed that she was anaemic.

Sian was just 35 when she passed away (AMFF)
