Inside the English village where there is no crime, debt or homelessness

The East Sussex village is home to a community of 300, all of whom don’t own anything

Suppose I were to suggest that there was a place you could live securely, debtfree, and guaranteed a roof over your head for free of charge.

No, this is not a crazy dream,it is a village in East Sussex.

Children there do not watch TV or use social media; indeed, they lack even phones.

With almost fifty years of isolation from common society, 300 people call the village home.

Darvell is located near the town of Hastings and all of its residents belong to The Bruderhof, a sect of radical Christians.

Among other things, it is a self-sufficient community where people run their own farm and orchard for food; its population is made up of families and singles.

In addition to furniture, they operate their own kitchen, schools, and children’s toy company. Oh, and it is worth millions of pounds.

If they decide to join the group, people here live as followers of Jesus and give up their possessions, cash, and rank.

Living according to early biblical text is the common way of life chosen by the British society, so naturally there are non-negotiables concerning divorce, gay relationships, and even appropriate attire.

The Mirror reports a typical day starts at 6.00 A.M. with two hours for lunch slotted in between 7.30 A.M. and 5.00 P.M., when school and work run.

Two members, Bernard and Rachel, have made an appearance on This Morning in the past (YouTube/This Morning)

Fashion in any form is against, with simple traditional dresses with headscarves a common choice.

Skirts, plaid dresses, and loose shirts would be also all right.

With life decisions and choices, work and location is already decided for you, and although this sounds foreign, there are in fact 23 more Bruderhof settlements worldwide.

This means there are thousands of persons living this way, which started in Germany in 1920 as a pacifist movement.
